I barely remember anything about either character, but isn't Bill some extra-dimensional lovecraftian abomination?

Is Discord on that tier or is he just a regular magic trickster?

The conclusion of the fight is surprisingly well thought out.

Discord is seen writing a letter briefly before the start of the match. We don't get to see it, but it is very likely a good-bye note to Flutteshy because she is briefly seen in tears before Discord accepts that it is a Death Battle. One of them must die.

Discord fades away, but he died saving Equestri from being threatened by Cipher. And he used Bill's arrogance to trick him once more into sealing himself away. So, Discord loses, but he gets the last laugh.

You'd think an entire Pony universe with the Elements of Harmony and unicorn hair and everything wouldn't so easily be threatened by Bill., but whatever.

Still, Death Battle really knocked it out of the park with this one and Silver Surfer/Martian Manhunter.
