While we all have fond memories of those games, I think most people forget that they were only like four stages long and even if you combined all of them would barely qualify to be released on virtual console, let alone as a full title.

The second one got put on the GameBoy switch virtual console when that became a thing some months back.

Hmm, looking at some video lengths, Super Mario Land full playthroughs are as short as 23 minutes and Super Mario Land 2 as short as 48 minutes.
