Yup, they effectively did what Burgoyne could not.
I know that sounds odd, but it's true, and to be noted.

I was at home watching something on TV when it switched to the news with what was happening. I didn't end up going to school, although I don't remember if it was canceled or not.

My dad explained to me what happened later

Sitting in class watching the teachers freak out. Got home and my mom told me nobody knew where my dad was. I thought my dad was dead for a while. I live very close to the pentagon/dc so it was a really big deal for my area.

Luckily my dad was somewhere else in the Pentagon and managed to get out.

I got up early to watch the the West Wing on Bravo before work.

Also, I'll never forget seeing images on live TV of people jumping from da towers to deir deaths, scary stuff

I moved my store to a new location. I was putting some shelves together at the time. Opened on the 12th. A friend come in to tell me the news

Third grade

I was in 8th grade, sleeping when it happened; I live in Alaska, first plane hit before 5am our time. I remember seeing it on the news before school and my dad saying something like, "This is going to be a major moment in your life."

We had a field trip that day, out to this place for outdoor activities and team-building stuff. Once we got out there we gathered up to talk a bit about what happened, then went about our day as normal.

I was in 10th grade English class. The principal spoke on the PA system and told teachers to turn on the news.

Sleeping when the twin towers went down

When I got to my college campus, all the classes were cancelled and we all were in the cafeteria watching it unfold and had a buddy system leaving.

I was at Kindergarten, then when I went home I watched DBZ on Toonami. I remember that the Other World Tournament arc (lumped in with the Great Saiyaman arc in the Funimation dub) started airing a day before. The episode that aired on 9/11 was the one where Pikkon fought the Hercules looking dude. I remember watching that at a relative's house.

I was at work in Philly listening to the Howard Stern show. Everything was so surreal when it happened.

I was in an 8th grade algebra class. Some lady showed up to deliver the news that the plane hit the tower. I didn't think much of it at the time. Just assumed it was a freak accident. I just continued doodling in my notebook. It wasn't until later that day when I went to my science class that I was informed of the aftermath. I remember the teacher saying (in reference to the towers), "they're gone". That was basically my "oh shit" moment and I knew then how serious the situation was. I don't really remember many specifics beyond that.

In bed being woken up by my mom for school. Can't remember if I was in BC or Hawaii at the time. I assume BC because I went to school, but who knows, been too long. Owing to the time change the buildings were already down by the time I woke up.

I was like 9 and had no agency for what was happening. Only reason I realized something was wrong is because my Dad called my Mom, which he almost never did since they had been split up for years by that point.

I was in 11th grade second period. I had a study hall. They turned it on all the TVs after the first plane hit. We watched the second one live. 3rd period was honors English. We watched the buildings fall down then.
