Dad wanted to grab A&W, since he's paying for it, we both got our usual. He gets a Teen combo with an extra teen on the side, me a Papa burger/cheese combo with an extra Papa with cheese on the side, replace fries with onion rings. I won't eat all mine in one go, but its nice to have a pick me up later in the night when I go to a friends house.

53 CAD. Thank god I'm not paying for it. I know its going to cost more because of the modifications I made to my order, but I expected maybe 39 plus tax.

Their onion rings are usually really good. The seasoning tonight was great, but the damn things were falling apart in the bag. I'm half tempted next week to try and make air fryer onion rings for the first time. We have a chicken shop called Mary Browns where I live, they gave me like 1/4 cup of their seasoning last time I was there, so that should make it nice and tasty.... assuming my house doesn't burn down from my lack of experience making onion rings.

I don't eat there much anymore. I'm a kid of the 90s when they were a lot cheaper. Like 1/4 the cost.

Most everything was a quarter the cost then.

I had no idea A & W was anything but a cheap soda brand.

american A&W is way better than canadian A&W. even though they have the same name, their menus are completely different. american A&W is way more authentic.

I don't eat out anymore and haven't in years but back when I did I really enjoyed the food at an American A&W but by far the best feature was getting the root beer in a real glass frosted mug and getting the root beer from the tap of an actual keg. On a hot summer day or night that was the absolute highlight.

Isn't that interesting. Seems to be the way it is with many fast food places. I've heard Burger King here in Canada is way better, but Wendys is a lot better in the States.

KFC is the most overpriced fast food place though so get good from there next time to make a&w seem reasonable by comparison

I don't think I've ever seen an A&W that wasn't in one of the dual setups with a KFC or Taco Bell or something like that

The real question is if it is the older style drive in A&W where they still do service right at your vehicle at your parking spot.

No Taco Bell where I live. They tried it a few years ago, it lasted maybe 2 months before they went out of business. It was like a Taco Bell express, all they sold were soft shell burritos, not even good ones at that.

There are some A&W's that are becoming more like Five Guys in fixing everything fresh to order.
