I watched a review of Godzilla: The Series for Game Boy Color and it reminded me how the cartoon had more effort put into it than the Roland Emmerich movie. I don't get the feeling that the makers of the cartoons were that big of fans of Godzilla either. They were simply willing to do something with the subject matter to try and make an entertaining show. Unlike the director who directly made fun of the viewing audience by having "The Worm Guy" as the lead.

Then there's Avatar: The Last Airbender. Or Batman. The Animated Series may have entered the "red skies" episodes which weren't as favored as the first three seasons, but they were leagues about Batman & Robin.

It just makes you want to ask, "Why didn't they hire the cartoon writers?"

Like, yeah, I know. They're different mediums and there are certain rules or preconceptions. Hiring cartoon writers isn't always a perfect fix either. Paul Dini, one of the head writers of BTAS, was also the screenwriter for Double Dragon. Yes, that live action Double Dragon movie.
