You will struggle to eat and may even die from starvation. If you choose 2 you are filthy rich but will never be known by anyone in any way. Even women on dating sites will ignore you even if you claim to be rich. You cannot have any amount of fame not even infamy. You won't neccesarily reach as many people as you'd want but you can definitely enact change. If everyone helped in even small ways, there would be significant improvement. Besides there's no guarantee your influence would be a good one. If everyone thought the same way, that leaves less room for new ideas. So in a way, taking the money while having no influence is the more selfless option. Especially since you could donate to charity, it's simply that no one would acknowledge the contribution.
