Now this is dumb. You could just record those off the radio.

I don't understand spending money on one song lol. Why not just wait and buy the whole album if you're gonna dish out money

I didn't buy them, but I was given one as a freebie by a radio DJ, I think they were doing some kind of thing where "first __ folks that come up get a free CD"

It was this.

Singles usually aren't one song. They're usually 1 song + 2 or 3 remixes or a radio edit and sometimes a completely unrelated B side that didn't make the cut for the album and the single is like the only place you can listen to it

Like this song is only on the "Sin" single. It's not on any other album.

i know but they costed $3-$6 at the time. albums costed $15-20 in the 90s.

so you buy one single, another one, at most you would have spent $12. just 3 dollars less than a whole album (at cheapest) ... were those remixes really worth it lol

I used to.

If EP's count then that's how I found my favorite Cranberries song.
I would through in that it's an EP that is the only live copy of The Beatles, I Call Your Name.
I would love to get a hold of Molly Rankins's EP, She Ep.

But much before that, yes, CD or Cassette.

I still have this, as well as others.
One of the mixes had a stupid amount of Bass!!

Depends. The Down In It single I didn't feel like was worth it. The Head Like a Hole Single had great remixes.

A lot of singles had non-album tracks and/or alternate mixes as the B-side.

were y'all really so passionate about music that you'd regularly dish out money for some obscure remixes and b sides

If I liked the band enough, yes. Absolutely. I'd go out of my way to find obscure shit too.

Not often, but I did have the Candle in the Wind '97 single that was never released as part of an album and a Billy Joel single that had Goodbye Yellow Brick Road as one of its tracks.

To be honest I've probably regretted buying albums that only have one good song than spending less money for a single I did like.
