It doesn't seem like NMS at all. Even before the reviews clarified what the exploration was like, the exploration was already confirmed to be fairly linear.

Still hyped though.

I was considering picking it up at launch, but based on the reviews I'll probably pick up BG3 or play something from my backlog instead.

I didn't realize that being hyped or not was supposed to be a strictly logical reaction. Still, if you need elaboration, Bethesda's noticeable downward trend towards lack of innovation, poor QA, and growing contempt for their consumer base has eroded the goodwill of even the most stalwart fan at this point; their sins aren't unforgivable, but it's definitely instilled a 'wait and see' approach to their games. Futhermore, I could still muster hype for a new FO / ES game, which would at least have the benefit of piggybacking on pre-established lore; but Bethesda's obvious writing limitations will make a brand-new IP a tough sell.

No but its because of the setting. I detest sci-if space settings. Same reason I never had any interest in Mass Effect even though its incredibly popular.

Bethesda gets a lot of hate but I absolutely love their Elder Scroll games. I avoid Fallout games because I dont like post apocalyptic settings with very few exceptions.

To me if I was into the setting I would absolutely be hyped to play it but the setting kills it for me. Ill never play it.
