The other day, someone said stuff like this could be false flag shit paid for by Big Oil. I wonder if that's what's happening.

What would actual climate protesters have to gain from this when they could be using their time and resources to thwart the folks actually responsible for fucking up our planet?

People said the same sort of things during protests around the civil rights movement and womans sufferage. Those people as it turns out were morons as it seems that if you don't annoy people and piss off people then everybody has a real easy time ignoring you and the cause you're pushing. You need to annoy people, you need to piss them off, you need to cause economic damage, that's how you get heard.

And here I thought protests were supposed to be about bringing awareness to an issue? But there's always dumb activists among the smarter ones.

Lobbying to the goverment for their gain would probably benefit them alot more then this.....

I believe there was a documentary about climate activism. The group was named snow fall, or rock slide, I dont remember.

Don't forget workers rights, that required a hell of a lot of this as well.

That was already once unions had power, they could cause economic damage by doing that. Let's take a look though at coal miners, now that was a bloody affair. Those Ford workers were able to do what they did thanks to the rights fought for with blood from people 40 years earlier.

A bit of apple to oranges comparison here. Its a much different world out there today and civil rights is a much easier thing to sell to people unless theyre practically evil. Theres no convincing anyone who doesnt care about climate change by now. At least not in significant amounts. Kinda like try to change the mind of anti vaxxers. Its not happening.

Honestly, the idea of climate protestors blocking highways is ironic to me. You're delaying traffic and causing a backup. During which the vehicles will emit more greenhouse gasses while idling, thus actively increasing damage to climate compared to if you just stood by the side of the road and let them go past you.

I'm guessing Burning Man was blocked due to the Burning Man Project trying suing to stop a geothermal plant being built nearby. Fact is that an event like Burning Man is not particularly green and it's a REALLY bad look for a group that claims to want to somehow turn the event carbon neutral is trying to shut down a plant that would generate carbon free energy.
