Yes there were things like the Waco incident, the Oklahoma City bombings, and the LA Riots but those seem rather small compared to global incidents of other decades such as the closeness of nuclear war in the 60s and 80s, Vietnam in the 79s, obv 9/11 and Iraq war in the 00s.

There were people being slaughtered in Rwanda, Kosovo, and Bosnia. And that's just what I remember being aware of as a kid... no telling what other crazy shit was going on that I didn't hear of then and haven't learned of since.

That war never really ended. The U.S. continued bombing Iraq on an average of every 3 days throughout the Clinton years.

They also imposed sanctions that killed half a million children.
