You don't know shit about brand value. You don't know shit about Taco Bell's last decade. And you clearly don't understand how different regions, cities, or just parts of town have vastly different behavioral patterns.

Taco Bell has been chasing numbers for years. They make every move to go after some empirical, measurable statistic. And every single fucking time it's bit them in the ass. Every single time they failed to consider what would be lost to move up a slot in store rankings. Taco Bell execs are consistently stupid and narrow minded.

Cashless is at least a 50 year endeavor. And that's only if the many markets where cash is actually making a comeback lose steam.
I don't give a fuck about Taco Bell, but fighting against progress because corporations are also pushing progress is stupid. We don't need cash. Many people have already abandoned it regardless of what businesses accept. Obviously, changes need to occur, but we should be fighting to help bring people left behind into the 21st century, rather than fighting to keep things how they are. The fact that the poorest among us do not have easy access to things like debit cards and photo ID is a failure that needs to be corrected posthaste.

Cashless is bullshit and a scam.

How foolish do you have to be to believe all of the mega-corporations and banks are making good decisions in your best interests?

I believe the end game is semi or full automation with a gigantic focus on delivery apps exclusively, at least in key markets. The city I live in is talking about installing a robotic Mcdonalds kiosk that does phone orders only to operate overnight deliveries, since companies don't generally want to spend for 24h labor costs anymore.

It's so fucked that people are dupped into this mindset.
People honestly trust banks?

This has been almost 100 years of conditioning since The Great Depression.
Our shitty education system has done its job.

Cash may be on the way out.

I myself no longer use it for most transactions.

Still a stupid choice. What, the occasional casher too much hassle? What, you really scared that a robber will stick up your store for the... hundred or JUST MAYBE UP TO two bucks actually there in case someone wants to use cash?

It just speaks more of the ever-increasing level that they don't want to deal with anyone who doesn't want to go to a store, and then do all the work themselves.

To be frank, sure, grocery stores are free to try the whole self-checkout concept... if they redesign their store around it. Go back to the old days where the employees get the product and give it upon request. Or whatever.

Yeah, I think this is a real issue. I don't carry much cash on me, but not being able to complete a purchase you need because there is a technical error is bad.

IDK. I know many places at retail refuse certain bills like $50 and $100. I don't know to what extent is legal to refuse cash. Every bill I've ever gotten in the mail will only accept checks or cashier's checks in the return post.

I know that there is wiggle-room as to what kind of cash they can accept.

For example, if someone goes to a Best Buy to buy the latest Samsung phone, Best Buy can refuse to accept payment if the guy wants to pay with a F-150 truckbed full of pennies.

Of course you need cash. It's how you pay for things when there is no internet service... like during disaster recovery, for instance.

Also, it's nearly untraceable. So if you want to buy some light infantry weapons and start a revolution in some African country... you need cash.

Bitcoin is a poor substitute, as you still leave a trace when you move it or access it. That's why the US government is able to recover good amounts of Bitcoin ransoms that companies pay out to internet hackers. Not to mention that you can't even access it... if internet service is down.

so most of your money is currently physical cash either in a wallet or hidden in your house? I sure hope you don't have 98% of it sitting in some.untrustworthy bank account.

Being a dinosaur because corporations support modernization is stupid. How about we support modernization for the right reasons and just eat the rich and the government when they don't obey us?

I'm not gonna be some goddamn doomsday prepper waiting for society to collapse and go back to the stone age. I'm not going to buy electronics and post on the Internet while mocking people for becoming slaves to the information age.

In New York State, if you find gold anywhere, even on your own property, The State claims ownership to it.

Also, Bismuth Crystals are cool.
Ironically I don't have any.
But I would like to try melting them down to what happens.
