I had the system off when I sprayed it, couldn't hold it upright to spray in the keys. Liquid sprayed out at least 3 times. I immediately turned it back on to see if it was ok, using it now as I type this but worried about long lasting effects.

Also the reason why I sprayed the keys is there's been 3 instances in the past few months where when I type sometimes a string of random numbers and letters appear. This happened twice in the last few days, and once a few months ago. Not sure what causes it.

the liquid from dust remover?

it's just a refrigerant, at worst it made the plastic really cold for a little bit

If the liquid got into the circuit board or the contacts on the switches, it could cause them to short circuit until the liquid evaporated, which is usually only seconds if you've really sat there and tried to concentrate the liquid.

I doubt this would cause any real harm, since basically pressing on the key closes the contacts, so the worst that could happen would be some extra characters on the screen.

Unless your keyboard has LED backlighting, in which case there could be more voltage going somewhere it shouldn't. But this is extremely unlikely. The circuitry generally isn't just sitting exposed, you'd really have to work at it to get the liquid down into the circuit board. And it would only be for a few seconds or less before the liquid evaporated.

That's actually why I used the dust remover, is because on my Chromebook in the span of a few months, an extra string of random numbers and letters have appeared after what I type 3 times. The last two being in the span of a few days. Is that always the case of a faulty keyboard or could it be software? Doesn't happen all the time, just those 3 times, with the last two being more close and recent, sure its not the last of it.

I was told to do a keyboard diagnostic and all it did was tell me to hit 4 random keys, I hit around 8 and didn't know if there was more to it, nothing happened or showed up.

Was more concerned to see that the battery life was at 74%, only been using it a year to a year and a half. This Chromebook was on the cheaper end, $129, but the main reason I got it was because it will receive updates until 2028. Guess, it wont even last that long, unless you can still use it when the battery life is dead? Not sure how it drained so much, I do keep it plugged in often as I don't have it leave the spot its in. I close it when I'm not using it.

@Shrek

Pretty sure it was battery health as I don't think the amount has ever been that low due to it mostly being on charge.

I guess these holidays I need to request a new Chromebook. This one was $129, amidst the current issues, has pretty poor speakers to. I got this one only on the fact that it has a longer end of life in terms of updates, but don't think it will last that long if the battery is that low already.
