Depends on how badly Tories get voted out

If they get destroyed and Labour gets a huge majority. Things will stay the same for a decade or so and then they'd go back.
If Tories do fine, they won't go back.
If Tories get destroyed, LAbour gets into power but 3rd parties also do well so the government is dirverse. Within a decade
If Tories get destroyted, Government is hung and Labour has to make a coalition, would be before 2030

If by some miracle govenrment is completely hung with no coalition. I imagine it could happen real soon.

Most of the population want to rejoin the EU since it's objectively the best thing to do. But political nonsense make that impossible for Tories and difficult for Labour estabishment.

A complete u-turn on Brexit won't be politically viable for a long time.

A non-Tory government will likely do it piecemeal. A trade deal here, increased cooperation there, joint agreement on standards somewhere else. Once Brexit is effectively over, the arrangement can be formalized.

First, theyd need a government that wants back in.

Then, theyd need a government that could survive the reentry negotiations, as the Brits are going to be shocked to discover that they wouldnt just be let back in with their old sweetheart deal that they had previously.

Irregardless, for all intensive purposes, I could care less.

I think you're right if Labour gets a sizable majority..

Most of the UK population is against Brexit. France already offered a "rejoin the EU but we'll call it another name so you feel better about it" option.

I think the piecemeal option is only the case for Labour because they have a lot of right wing interests and are shifting towards what the Tories used to be 20 years ago.

I think you'd be shocked how simple it would be

As I just said, France already put out feelers for the UK rejoining the EU. The EU WANTS the UK in there. It's mutually beneficial for everyone except Russia for the UK to be in the EU.

EU playing hardball with the UK would only hurt the EU.

You're thinking is more along the lines of "What if Scotland declared indepednance and then tried to rejoin the EU without England?" if that happened the EU would bend Scotland over a barrel and laugh for days
