Over the past week, Paramore had to postpone some shows on their This Is Why tour due to what was at first described as an illness within the touring party. Not long after shows in San Francisco, Seattle, Portland, and Salt Lake City were pushed back in their itinerary, bandleader Hayley Williams took to social media and shared a statement that revealed she was the one with the illness. Paramore have already picked back up their tour they performed in Tulsa on Saturday night and St. Louis on Sunday. And yesterday Williams took to her Instagram story to respond to some internet criticism she saw about their brief tour postponements. In one tweet that she posted a screenshot of, a random person said that both Metallica and Iron Maiden manage all of which are much older than you love.

Williams responded with: Neither James [Hetfield] NOR Bruce [Dickinson] are gonna suck your dick for this, LOVE. In another tweet, someone else brought up the time back in 2015 that Dave Grohl fell off the stage and broke his leg and kept performing. Williams response: I have a lung infection you soft shit! Not a broken limb. One you can sing with for 2 hours, another you cant But worry not! The shows werent cancelled, merely postponed a week. Maybe you should come out to one of them like Dave did And in a longer response: internet bros have been pressed by my proximity to rock music and all its subgenres since 2005. the only thing thats changed is the platform from which they spew their ignorance. dont think for a second your fav bands metal or punk or otherwise endorse your weird incel ass lifestyle. so many of these bands have stood side stage at our shows and treat us with respect. why? bc they arent threatened by a strong woman front a great band in a completely diff genre of music.

This in no way makes me more likely to ever listen to a Paramore song on purpose.

Shit like this isn't unusual... Elton John is also older than her and had to leave a concert in mid performance a few years back because he had pneumonia and lost his voice while singing. Is he weak for leaving even when he could literally sing no more, or should he have just stood there wheezing and croaking into the microphone and producing no music, but making a ludicrous attempt till the end of the show?

Yeah, when the vocalist is sick thats kind of a big deal. 1. It makes it way harder or even impossible to sing. 2. Singing causes potentially infectious particles to spew out of you.

So she's gonna blow the fans in attendance? I don't like pop punk/emo but that'd be a good reason to go to a concert/boost ticket sales.

She's going through a terrible midlife crisis. If she's this bad on the internet and to random people imagine the people in her personal life.

I get what she's saying and yeah, she used some overly-generalizing language that could have been much better targeted to the type of people she's angry with. At this point, I think insulting people for being incels is stooping to the level of ignorant right-wingers, but even more problematic, it would seem to further advance social problems like date rape and the promotion of pick up culture in lieu of investing in authentic relationships with people. Admittedly, I have no anecdotal story to prove this at the moment, but it doesn't seem like a huge leap in logic either.

Anyways, I never really cared for Paramore but they're far better than their peers in what I call the big four of crap punk of the late 00's, consisting also of Fall Out Boy, Panic at the Disco, and All American Rejects.

My sister and I went to high school in the city that Hayley Williams is from. Also, she's only a year younger than my older sister.

I love the stupidity of the Dave Grohl broke his leg during a set and still finished it, therefore every singer must perform while sick argument.

It is more than she assumes a "weird incel ass lifestyle" which seems unnecessary. She can be mean without lumping all people together, and most likely inaccurately for many of them.
