They see Russia on the verge of collapse due to their imperialist aggression over a smaller weaker country, and they are like "we want some of that".

The Mexican government can't control the cartels. It's backwards in Mexico, the cartels control the government. Often with help from the corrupt Mexican military.
I'm not saying that a military invasion is the solution, but there's really no easy fix for a situation that fucked.

Military Invasion is, like, the opposite of a solution

That's how you make it worse

BTW violence in Mexico has actually stabilized and started to decrease with the current left-wing government. Although very slowly.

The solution isn't blowing billions, shitcanning our reputation, ruining our relationship with a neighbor for at least a generation and turning said neighbor into afghanistan 2.0

I guess their endgame is to just murder every Mexican, because I doubt it's their desire to gain 128 million new citizens who all speak Spanish.

I'd rather Civil War 2 happens before we let Republicans in charge lead us into invading our neighboring countries and Canada has also been potential target for Republicans as well for a while due to the far-right media's fearmongering of nonexistent things happening over there.

It's fear mongering at its cheapest. Republicans are incapable of coming up with policies that would help the average American, so they will resort to deflecting attention on an outside menace, perceived or real. It used to be Muslims for Dubya Bush, it was illegal aliens for Trumps and now it's the cartel for 2024, and that's after having been talking about the supposed impending civil war since Biden took office. Republicans are so f***ing gullible, they just eat it up without realizing they are being played yet again.
