I like parts of the movie but I think it takes itself too seriously and that ending is super wacko and doesn't fit the tone of the overall film --- There is no good. There is no evil. I really like how the characters bounce off each other, and how it comments on Riggan's own perspective, directly and indirectly. Sometimes it's wonderfully ironic as well, like when Mike Shiner tells Riggan that this city has forgotten about Riggan and moved on, and immediately after they're approached by a few fans who are like "Hey you're Riggan Thomson! Can we get a picture with you?" ~~I also like how in that same scene, Mike defends Riggan when talking to the reporter Tabitha, despite criticizing Riggan himself earlier.~~ The movie is also filled with clever little details that you probably won't notice the first time you watch it, like ~~during the rehearsal at the beginning of the film, Riggan subtly aims his eyes upward, anticipating the lamp that's about to fall on Ralph's head.~~ And of course the way it's shot like it's one continuous take is pretty cool.
