How's Windows support on it these days? Having a handheld that runs full blown Windows is pretty cool; I can dock it and use it as a normal PC, then just grab it off the dock and play handheld.

If the Deck's isn't quite there yet, consider a similar device like Ayaneo or ROG Ally (well, maybe not that last one until they address the MicroSD issue...)

And you call them steamed deck despite the fact that they are obviously grilled.

You'd only have to wait 2 weeks at most. Or would you be ordering it from somewhere other than the Steam store?

I've enjoyed mine, more compact then carrying around a laptop for gaming and a wider range of games then the switch even before factoring in emulation.

2 weeks? I live in Newfoundland and it came less than 5 days after ordering and this was Christmas time. Unless your in EU or Asia, it shouldn't take more than 3-4 days. That said, if you do pick one up tc, I'd highly suggest getting a dock to go with it. I got mine off of Amazon, an IVoler dock with 4k support. You have to work the settings a little bit to make it fit on the screen, but it works great.

The only thing I'm not a fan of is the on screen keyboard and browser controls. It's really not easy to pick up. It should be as simple as hovering over a text box, clicking on it and then typing, but for some reason it isn't like that atm. Might be later on.

If you still haven't decided on one yet, I suggest getting either the 256GB or 512GB model, even if you plan on installing games to an SD card. You'll need to install other various software directly to the Deck's internal storage (these can't be installed on an SD card) and if you have a bunch of games you'll fill the 64GB version sooner than you would expect.

I got the second tier and I love it. I have heard some people say they dont like the 3rd tier's anti glare screen for color or something?

In any case its a miracle machine I have got the chance to play so many more games since I got one.

I use mine primarily as an Indie machine so performance usually isnt an issue BUT what I learned recently is that if you do want to play any 3D games, I highly suggest going to performance settings (in steam deck) and pick the -per game- option an limit framerate to 30. Not only will you dramatically reduce heat but you will get a great performance boost too. Mine used to get 70-85celsius and I would have to drop games down to medium settings until I just capped the framerate to 30.
