I have GAD and Panic Disorder and the one thing therapy has taught me is that i can just stop it. If you need immediate techniques. Pours a glass of water. Sip it and take deep slow breathes. Using a mantra and talking yourself down helps too

I'm genuinely glad that works for you, and you may not mean it like this, but that basically came off as 'just don't be anxious'

Ideally, phone your therapist or other healthcare professional/advice centre.

Try watching a favourite (undemanding, not stressful) movie, or listening to some relaxing music through headphones. I know people who find those lo-fi beats things on YouTube to be helpful.

See a doctor, first and foremost. Anxiety very often can lead to high blood pressure and other problems. Once you have that under check, then perhaps see a therapist, or explore what may be causing your anxiety on your own, if you don't feel a therapist will help.

EDIT: If the anxiety isn't a common thing and is just in the moment, then do something that may distract you. Watch a movie, play a game, whatever makes you feel comfortable.

Thats what CBT is which is the leading technique for Anxiety, Depression and OCD. Its challenging the negative thoughts and reinforcing them to positive thoughts.

It's easier said than done but to its basics its "stop being anxious"
