When I get a paperback at Half-Price Books, and the book is in good condition, I assume that it hasn't been read. It could just be that, because I'm left handed, I bend the cover page away from the book instead of bending the book away from the cover page. By the time I get through with a book, the front page will always have a bend to it where the book will not fully close unless there is weight on it forcing it shut.
