Going to jail for threatening a doctor also has financial consequences for your family.

Whats frustrating is that while hes sitting over there keyboard warrioring it up about holding a doctor hostage or some shit, Im here living in wisconsin, with a child and a wife who is at advanced age for pregnancy (and thus elevated risk of complications)

This is more or less my situation too, minus the being married part.

Like if she were to get pregnant we'd go through with it since we want children, but there's always a possibility the fetus won't be viable

Cooled myself down, still keeping the problem posters blocked though. It's frustrating as fuck seeing people say that the victims of this are the ones that should have to put themselves out, again and again and again.

Blocking is a weak response i am against it 100% in all but the most extreme cases. Your anger over the issue is quite understandable. However threats to doctors is most certainly not.

I do it mostly to just end the discussion, I usually remove them with a day or two. Not my favorite, but I do what I have to.

Refusing necessary care over fascist illegitimate laws isn't acceptable.

But that's on top of any extra expenses you have to do with it being out of state. All because of an immoral law that no doctor has any place obeying.

And what do you think the cost is going to be of threatening a doctor who likely doesn't even have the necessary medicines and equipment available at all, let alone unsupervised access to carry out an illegal procedure?

A few grand, if that, to travel out of state is far less than years of lost income and a criminal record... Especially when the latter likely still won't get you your way.

Taking cost of abortion aside, the actual travel wouldn't be more than a couple hundred.

Granted I'm not defending that, just stating a realistic expense

I'd expect between one or two thousand all total. It might not be a lot for you, but that could easily bankrupt me and tons of others.

And I do want to apologize if I came off as insensitive with what you mentioned about your wife - it is hypothetical for me (for now) since I'm in Oregon, but when my wife and I try for kids we are going to be facing some real danger because of her own medical conditions, and I get so pissed seeing other people have to deal with this.

On that part if it upset you I'm sincerely sorry.
