I heard about this case. I heard that the parents were hoping to receive about 15 million dollars. It's a shame that that little girl got second degree burns and caused that much damage to her flesh. Who knew a chicken nugget can do something like that.

This kind of goes both ways. Restaurant should always consider the safety of not only their selves but also customers. Any hot food served to a toddler should always be checked in my opinion.

See the coffee being made super hot to make it stay hot longer made sense, even though it was far above the safety temps. If a nugget got that hot, wouldnt it burn?

Serving someone hot food isn't the same as handing a child some 200 degree mcnuggets. Go look at the pictures and figure out if you could easily do that to someone for "an easy payday" with your average fries.

I don't know. Second degree burns are common from boiling water / steam but sunburns are first degree so it's going to be a battle of what's more common there.

That's the issue I have. The parents are partially to blame too. Both sides are guilty.

Not defending McDonald's or any other fast food or restaurant places, but with how sue happy people in America are, some people could intentionally have these things happen on purpose. I don't think the parents did it on purpose, but they failed to make sure things were okay with the food when their child got it.

Compared to the guilt Mcdonalds has here the guilt by the parents is practically nonexistent. The parents should've checked for the COMFORT of the child but there is absolutely zero reason for them to need to check for the SAFETY of the child unless Mcdonalds is doing something horribly wrong.
