Pretty sure Demi means you can't just be attracted to any random person. You have to have some level of connection with someone before developing romantic feelings in any capacity.

Not sure what Sapio means but I also can't be fucked to use Google right now.

technically demi would refer to an emotional connection and sapio would refer to an intellectual connection. in practice though, the latter almost always just means straight guy who's likes conventionally attractive white women with glasses
