I didn't. I only played 1. But earlier I randomly thought about that there is no news picture the fans used to post every now and then.
It went announcement, five years of silence, eventually another trailer and a bunch of people angry about the voice being replaced right before release.

And then after it came out, all of a sudden I never hear anything about the game again. There was a Switch spinoff last month but even that was out of headlines in a day.
What happened? Did the wait or lack of news make people apathetic? Did it disappoint?

i played through it then just didn't touch it again, which is unusual for me because i normally play the shit out of games like bayonetta, dmc, etc.

It was good, but the performance was pretty bad on Switch. You can tell the devs had scope and ambitions that they weren't willing to cut, so a lot of the game chugs along, and at low rez. I swear that Bayonetta 2 on WiiU looked and ran better than Bayo 3.

Like there are giant kaiju sections that on paper and at a glance should be totally awesome, but the framerate dips far below the usual 60fps, and the graphics get all muddy and grainy. Sad.

Nintendo saving the franchise is both a blessing and a curse. There probably wouldn't be a Bayo 2 or 3 without them, but the franchise has been stuck on their weak hardware ever since. I lament what this game could've been like using the full power of the PS5 or Series X. 4K!? 120hz!? Arrrgh!

I hope they remaster it on Nintendo's next console and allow you to equip all the weapons or at least one more as well as improve graphics and framerate.

I kinda wish this had been made for Switch 2.

I haven't played this game in months but that's also because there's a ton of other games that I've been playing that I haven't beaten yet. I know I'll come back to this game eventually but it's the same way I feel about SMT V where I'm hoping it'll come to more powerful hardware. I know Bayonetta is staying with Nintendo but Switch 2 is on the horizon at this point.

Anyway, I'm a huge fan of the series regardless. Been playing Bayonetta 1 here and there for fun. I love this series. I also bought Bayo Origins day 1 but I'm still finishing older games that I bought last year.

I refuse to call it a "backlog" because gaming shouldn't sound like a chore. I'm playing what I want to play, when I want to play it.

I think it should only be called a backlog when you're buying good games that you are probably never going to play. Like if you have several sealed copies of games in your room (or a ton of digital games you know you will probably never play) then that's a backlog in my opinion.

Other stuff I'm not playing like for example Deadly Premonition 2. I was so excited for the release and then I realized that 1 was already perfect (in it's own way.)

DP never needed a sequel.

I just made a topic about it. I'm exceedingly worried it's disappointing, like not just story and characters/gameplay, even performance wise? How about if switch is in docked mode the whole time, does it still have slowdown or whatever type performance issues?

I've become a big fan of the series so will probably buy it as soon as it goes on sale or maybe bundled with that prequel spinoff game that I'm buying on good faith alone because the demo didn't sell me

It disappointed.

Mechanically it did a few new things but it didn't quite hit like old Bayonetta stuff.

And then the story was absolute garbage. Like way more garbage than Bayo is used to.

Sounds rough.

I watched a few combo videos, there's a lot of quickfire summoning in here. They've turned her into the Dissidia version of Yuna.
I don't really go for the spectacle of stuff like this.

That was moreso him talking to the Japanese because, politically, that's one of their "main issues" right now.

Yeah... I was already not interested in paying full price for bayo 3, but the idea of paying anything more than $30 (out of courtesy) for that Origins game is damn near ridiculous. Mostly because the demo gave me the impression that it's yet another retread of Bayonetta's past which we've seen a thousand times by now. We get it, she was shunned by the witches and poorly treated, we don't need another game revolving around that. It was fine just as cutscenes in Bayo 1 and 2.
