Don't care what the haters say, I like this movie. Its only true sin imo is being released too late, should have been Phase 3 instead of 4.

Yelena is a fantastic character and easily the highlight.

I also didn't really pick up on it the first time I watched, but I love how it's unclear whether Alexei is:

A - A liar who makes up stories about fighting Captain America for clout
B - So mentally far gone that he honestly believes he DID fight Captain America despite it being impossible with the timeline
C - Being 100% honest and there was another Cap that he fought in the 1980s

The third one is an interesting possibility hot on the heels of The Falcon & The Winter Soldier establishing that the US government was running experiments as far back as the 1950s to recreate the Super Soldier Serum.

I like the part where wolverine origins Deadpool shows up except now they changed his name to taskmaster.

The dynamics between Natasha's surrogate family are good.

Yelena's great and I hope she stays around in the MCU for a long time.

I just can't help but feel like Natasha was one of the least interesting characters in her own movie.

I know it's bad, but the deadpan way Yelena described what happened in the Black Widow Program made me laugh

I like to think that it was a misdirect and that Yelena was the Black Widow named in the movie's title. In a lot of ways the movie felt just as much like it was her origin story as it was Natasha's final outing -- she's even the one who got the kill on Dreykov.

The movie was a bit different to what I was expecting when I saw Rachel Weisz on the poster, I thought they were going for a Charlie's Angels Full Throttle approach. Still, I knew I was gonna at least like the movie a little because I love Rachel Weisz in her roles.

I'm not charmed by Florence Pugh like everyone else seems to be but I gotta admit calling Black Widow a poser was a hilarious bit, and of course the drop from the ceiling, highlight of the movie.

And yeah it's hard not to be annoyed that this movie should have come out waaay earlier. If not right before Civil War, then at the very least right after Civil War. It would have fit in so nicely with what happens in later movies. And complemented Winter Soldier well too if it came after that.

Fourth possibility occurred to me

D - Steve had gone back to 1943 to live his life at the end of Endgame, and was shown to have lived all the way to the year 2023, where -- let's be honest -- he aged pretty well for a man who would have physically been 105 years old. Circumstances may well have led to him fighting a 65-ish Steve Rogers at some point in the 1980s, and as both Alexei himself and Isaiah from F&WS prove, a Super Soldier at that age is still a Super Soldier and can put up one hell of a fight.

I mean, hell, Isaiah himself would have been at least 90 years old (he was stated to be a Korean War vet) and he was launching metal boxes through the wall and picking up potted trees like they were made of styrofoam.

I assumed he fought Isaiah at some point and just figured it was Cap.

Nah, that doesn't match up with his timeline. Isaiah fought in the Korean War and then in his own words was basically kept prisoner by his own country as a test subject until the 1980s, at which point a nurse helped him fake his death and he could escape. The only time he would have been allowed anywhere near a Captain America uniform would have been during the 1950s, and... well... it was the 1950s.
