Why is it every time somebody is complaining that "*insert thing* is being shoved down our throats!!!", it's always some totally not a racist, totally not a misogynist, just a genuinenly curious super innocent poster wondering why a women or black character exists?

Every fucking time. Then they get all mad when you call them out on it, as if we haven't seen this particular form of shit post a hundred fucking times whenever a new thing is released staring a black person or women.

She's coming back, now as a mutant. The only reason they killed her was to set up for her to revive as a mutant now. Apparently she is joining the xmen

Not sure i like the idea of changing the character design so much.

They desperately want to make the new, more diverse characters a thing. Unfortunately they lack the talent to make something interesting.

A teenage Muslim girl from New Jersey, who became a new marvel super hero around 10 years ago in the comics. Marvel wants her to be the next big Spider-Man level character. I don't know if she's as good as Spider-Man, but I do think she gets alot of undeserved hate. I like her powers in the comics. Unfortunately they changed her powers completely in the MCU. In the MCU she controls solid light. Or something like that

In the comics she can stretch, she can change shape I think, and she heals fast

I haven't seen it yet since I'm waiting for Secret Invasion to finish so I can watch both on two different days off. But there is absolutely no way it's going to be worse than She-Hulk.

Honestly as someone who just watched Ms Marvel, I totally agree with tc, I would have liked it much more if she were a straight white male, a white anglo-saxon protestant.

There was no chance they were going to give her stretchy powers in the MCU before the MCU Fantastic Four movie is made and released.

It was a completely predictable change to her character.

Then they should have just waited to introduce her later

I dunno, I thought the light thing was kinda cool, especially as a tie-in to islamic mythology and the concept of "noor" heavenly light. It's definitely vague enough to be used any which way the writer wants hehe.

One of my favorite small scenes is still when she puts on the bangle for the first time and we get like an Avatar Aang sequence where we see a vision of all her ancestors, I love stuff like that.

Oh man if tc watched the new Young Justice seasons he would absolutely hate Halo if you know what I mean. Definitely want him to watch seasons 3 and 4 now.

It was actually because Chris didn't like her powers. He thought it was gross when her hands got big

She hasn't been featured that much in the last few years. She's primarily been a guest in books, this is the first time she's had her own book in some time.

The new book she now semi-retcon her as a mutant which doesn't make sense. Also, not trolling. I will add that most of her defenders never really explained what makes Kamala so special. She was never the first Muslim character in comics. Let alone of the first female Muslim character. To me they're a bunch of tourists on Twitter which explain why her popularity seem artificial. Look at the "outrage" over her death when it's a pathetic crash grab.

I haven't even read her death story, but I am guessing that her revival story will explain why she is suddenly a mutant. Probably has to do with the method of her revival

I don't read them, but I know the current X-Men storyline involves mutants being "immortal" with some kind of resurrection machine. I also saw a page that indicates Cyclops is a friend of Kamala's, so he might pull some bullshit to get it to work.

Really? I can't believe Marvel would stoop so low to advertise the death of a character just for some sales. So unlike them and out of the blue to pull such a stunt.

I thought the show was great and shes my favorite character in the game to use. Cant wait to see whats in store for her in Marvels.

The original comic series with her was great. She's a likeable and relatable character. That's really all there is to it.

Marvel is constantly throwing out new characters. Most of them are boring and no one likes them. Every once in awhile they have a new hit character. Kamala is one of them.

Of course she wasn't. You act like people only like her as some sort of virtue signaling because she's female and Muslim. But that's not true, and this is the proof. The other Muslim heroes that came before didn't get popular because people thought they were boring, or because the stories they were in were bad, or who knows what reason. We don't just like any Muslim / female character who comes along. We like Kamala Khan because we think she's good.

I have been reading marvel for a bit, you are pretty much have what I expect. X-Men currently have a revival machine which they are using to bring back every mutant who has died.

Also the friendship between Cyclops and Ms Marvel is a little strange. It started with Beast bringing the original x-men team into the present from their past. So this young Cyclops was around at the same time as the current older Cyclops. The young Cyclops ended up becoming friends with Ms Marvel and iirc he was one of the founding member of the champions. When young Cyclops was sent back to his timeline he was supposed to have memories wiped, but somehow old Cyclops still has the memories of adventuring with Ms Marvel as a teen.

So yeah ot seems likely he is going to revive here and though it seems weird to make her a mutant since they can revive anyone not just mutants. But I guess then need to make the comics match the MCU

She's a mediocre character and a fantastic social media volleyball point. Rather like a lot of disney products and the vast majority or new marvel characters in the last 10 or so years (though I suppose mediocre is likely too generous).

I honestly didn't like her in the comics but then again I don't like 95% of the Inhumans anyway. I liked the show. I even loved that they changed her origin from being Inhuman to being a Mutant. Also the avengers game had a shit ton of other problems going on. That's why it failed, not because of Kamala Khan. Oh and those comics she was in the writing and the story sucked. That might be why it didn't sell as well.
