This meeting was planned in advance, of course. It's a 4-year contract that gets us 17.95% salary increases and writes into our master contract such language that all but guarantees continuing WFH. Also we get an immediate $1,200 one-time bonus next month. All we really had to give up in the end were some healthcare cost increases, but that's to be expected.

The salary increases look like this:

7/2023 - 4%
1/2024 - 2.5%
7/2024 - 4%
7/2025 - 3.95%
7/2026 - 3.5%

Remember people: find a workplace with a union if you can. Always talk to your coworkers about how much you make. And always resist anti-unionization efforts at work. It's stuff like this that companies, organizations, and Republicans in general want to prevent.

Likely, but there are other clauses the union wanted to keep in, such as the WFH clauses. There is a balancing act to negotiations.

To add to this: my union (maybe all unions?) have step increases. Thise are guaranteed raises you get every year for your job title, up to 10 years. Since I'm only into year 2 of this title, that means I get another raise on top of this salary increase, to the tune of about $150 more per check (and increasing more as the years go on). I also forgot to mention that any healthcare cost increases are delayed for the first year, too.

When you add up all the benefits on top of the wage increases, it's actually a really good deal we got. I'm pretty happy with the way things are right now.

I've heard that some people don't like them but I've basically never heard any reasons that didn't amount to corporate propaganda
