Guy bought VIP comedy show tickets for a girl and him. She says they are just friends. Comedian sees through the bullshit and calls it what it is. Comedian tells girl the least she can do is pay for drinks if he paid for VIP tickets. Everyone laughs it off.

Male friend posts in the comments that they went backstage and met the comedian and laughed it off. Then says she ghosted him right after the show and it's almost been a year since then.

Eh friends tend to drop off after a break-up. If he's more friends with the guy it makes sense. Likewise he deleted her number after not getting a response to a single text message and never saw her again so I doubt they were all that close.

Don't know how well the guy knew the girl but seems a bit rude on her part for ghosting him.

He could have bought the tickets with the intent the friend was going to pay him for half. Then when plans fell through he still had the tickets and had to find someone else.

I'm not really sure why you're calling out that they are VIP tickets. I don't know what you get in VIP vs. not VIP for this particular scenario, but totally plausible it was just two bros wanting to go to a comedy show and had the money to do VIP

Or the dude could be full of shit, who knows

This happened to me a couple times. My male friend night VIP tickets for a con, and when one of the guys couldnt make it, offered me the ticket. And the next year, he just flat out bought them for me. I had every intention of paying for them both times, but he said it was fine

You know what, that's fair. For me, my friend would have already paid his share (I'm not paying for VIP for the boys unless it's a special occasion and I'll be damned if they bail on that lol). So that part stood out as odd to me. Like maybe he did intend for it to be her.

Because when she swore to the comedian that they were just friends. He says "You swear, he don't" and the guy didn't try to deny it. Hell, he didn't try to deny any of what the comedian was saying.

Doesn't change things either way. They haven't spoken since the show. Best we can do is speculate
