I remember when it came out and a bunch of fanboys were pretending it's the worst thing ever because it removed the shitty QTEs and having to constantly pause the game to switch weapons.

iirc, some people were calling it woke because of how Ada was depicted, and Ada's voice actress/model received harassment as a result.

I haven't played the game yet, though, but I own it, and will give it a chance hopefully soon.

Honestly they both have their place. RE4 OG has a more fun story and dialogue, a MUCH better Ada, bouncing ballistics, Separate Ways,band different gameplay set pieces that are fun.

RE4make has better gameplay, a better Ashley (except for her lack of ballistics and upskirt obviously), lets you wear the bomber jacket FUCKING FINALLY on NG+, and different gameplay set pieces that are fun.

I just miss U3 fight, but otherwise it's better.

The Iron Maidens play better and I feel like Ashley is braver and less dependent here.

I haven't played either, but this is factually wrong, because video game remakes are bad.

Its not a bad game but its not as good for its day as the original was. I played through it a few times and will probably never go back to it. I will certainly go back to the original.

That is true. OG RE4 was revolutionary. RE4make is just really really good

I've very torn on it. I think I have to give the edge to RE4 because that game was like a solid fucking year of my life as a kid. I played it again before the remake came out and it somehow still holds up.

But it's very, very close. The remake was done very, very well.

People were calling it woke entirely because you couldn't look up Ashley's skirt anymore and because both she and Ada wear slightly more clothes.

I genuinely forgot they remade 4. Then again, while I enjoyed the fuck out of 4 back in the day it just hasn't been able to hold my interest since. Every time I try to replay it I drop off within 2-3 hours. It just doesn't hold up for me, I'd rather play the classics or RE2/3make.

God no, the remake was absolutely terrible, I regret spending 60 bucks on it
