Never since every job I've had has an annual process.

Coincidentally last week, and happy to say I got it. I even got what I asked for as I believe I fucked up how I went about it.

Can't say the same for past employers.

Congratulations! Sounds like you undersold yourself a bit, but hopefully you asked for an amount you are happy with it, or even thought was a stretch.

How did you go about it? Or, I guess, how did you fuck up?

not sure i've ever actually asked for a raise

got two or three over my last job of nine years, but i don't think they exceeded inflation over that timeframe

Never, but I have gotten decent raises every year at my current job

When I first took this job had no experience in this field. I got it because I'm comfortable with computers and could learn the software pretty fast and would learn all the other stuff as I went along. I took a salary that was on the low end of this field because of it.

At my review on my fifth year I told them that next review I wanted to have a conversation about my salary. They had been giving me pretty decent raises and I couldn't really complain but I felt that my knowledge and experience and gained a lot and it was time. They said okay. So I had clued them in that I was going to be asking for a raise. The next year I had a number in mind and without me ever saying my number they offered something and beat my number so I was happy.

When I worked at Kroger 6 years ago, when I found out a new employee made like $2.50 more an hour than me.

I did not get it.

I've been a union worker since 2016 so my raises are annual and upon contract renewals.

I got a raise/promotion at the start of the year. Other years I've gotten the max allowable merit increase.

At the end of this year I'll probably look for a new job, and either make more money here or at the next place.

Ive been given two in the last 12 months. I didnt ask for either of them.

January, February, April, finally got one in June, should be getting another one shortly.

The last raise I got was 2%...It quickly hastened my departure.

I get a token raise every year but ever since last year I now also get an annual bonus.
