-games where you can only spare enemies during cutscenes
-games where there's only one or few levels where sparing is an option. Sparing/killing has to be the main mechanic of the game
-switching between characters that either kill or don't kill

-you play as a character that prefers not to kill, but you are controlled by an entity/spirit/demon/lifeform that does kill . Your character knocks out an enemy, but the entity takes over and finishes off the enemy.

Voted Deus Ex, but I think I played Dishonered 2 after that.

Honestly not sure, both was years ago.

I'm just asking because I miss this option in AAA videogames. I don't like always having to kill my enemies.

MGSV, I like games where I have a choice and boy did I use it. Only time I ever killed was when it was a dire situation and I had no choice.

I was oddly reminded of GTA4, where if a person is sufficiently wounded, they become incapacitated. A careful player can complete the game and accumulate a kill tally of consisting only of those that are scripted to die. No other GTA game lets you do this.
You might think GTA5 follows the same pattern, but it actually doesn't. Even the unsuspecting gardener Franklin knocks out with a punch to the back of the head in one mission counts as a kill.

Anyhow, on topic, I always choose to let people live in Fallout when presented with the choiceand if there's a moral or ethical incentive for it. Motorrunner is irredeemable.

Can't remember if Fallout New Vegas or Cyberpunk is the last one I played. I do remember that in Cyberpunk, sticky grenades do contact damage. Was going to stick one on the final boss when I had the choice to spare/kill him and he died before it exploded.
