I've been after a horse fly. It landed on a pile of clothes. I threw a shirt down on top of it. As far as I could see, it didn't fly away from the pile. When I searched, I didn't find the body. My sense tell me I've won, but I'm not certain that I won't see it buzzing around again in the near future.

Throwing a shirt can be an effective method of killing a fly. They don't understand the concept of a projectile, so it can take them by surprise and cover more space than they anticipate. But you have to make the shot count. It may sound like a flimsy weapon, but it can absolutely kill or cripple a fly. At which point they'll die anyway.

This is like that scene in Ghostbusters where they're not sure if they've zapped the ghost or not. I'm expecting an ominous voice to tell me the choose the form of the Destructor. If that happens, I'm choosing an attractive naked woman.

It's moving again.

15 to 20 minutes without a sound and it's moving again. It's even perched on top of the shirt that I thought I had killed it with.

The hero returns for a second encounter. After a lengthy training session and inspiration from its friends, this just be the end of TC.

Now I get why villains always think they've killed the hero.

I have a shocker lamp. It glows ultraviolet, to attract flies and mosquitoes. As soon as a fly or mosquito enters the lamp, the lamp electrocutes it
