I was thinking about if this was it for the cast we have now outside of the possibility of having Link and Zelda go to a different area (I know Link has had adventures without Zelda before, but I truly feel Zelda is the heart of this era, so I couldn't imagine it myself). That would mean, unless they were brought along as guardians/representatives of Hyrule, the main npc's from each domain would be left behind for an all-new cast (which some might prefer, and I could understand why).

I feel a Zelda universe that doesn't touch on the Triforce still has somewhere to go, though, so I'm of the opinion that this era has stories left in it. Regardless of how iconic the Master Sword is, in all reality, the Triforce has always been the main icon of the series, serving as the first main narrative piece in the series. Perhaps, the Master Sword is starting to take over that role (I mean, the Master Sword is a character in its own right, with or without fi directly being present), but still. Regardless, the Triforce without Hyrule is something I'm not too sure on of being a thing (outside of Lorule of course).

So with that said, I'm not asking your preference, but more so what possibilities do you think there could be to make a 3rd trip to this Hyrule still feel warranted? For one, I would probably keep the sky islands with expanding on them more. As for the Depths, while cool, I do feel that we could probably go without it in the next game as I feel it would be overkill to have. There could be an expansion with the sea in terms of being able to explore underwater more, but I'm of the opinion that wouldn't be enough. In terms of the big gimmick that would replace the Depths, I've heard suggestions like Lorule/the Dark World, which would be cool to see I suppose in the style of Hyrule. Based on Master Kohga's defeat, some have suggested some expansion into the moon, but space exploration might be a little out there for Zelda as of now.

Personally, I would finally complete the original idea of The Legend of Zelda. Back, when the idea of the Triforce was that it was actually a very advanced computer chip, and that it would serve as the Link between the Hyrule we know, and the Hyrule of the future. In a way, I suppose OoT actually made use of the idea of jumping between points in time, and we might be encroaching on the Hero of Time's turf, but this would be a future much greater than that gap. We are taking eons of time to the point that Hyrule is futuristic, and even Breath of the Wild is considered a legend long forgotten. I feel technology is the center of BotW/TotK, and it seems like a natural evolution that would allow a way to make Hyrule's 3rd trip not feel overdone. It should be noted, in this proposed idea, you could still visit "present-day" Hyrule, so the fantasy environment would still be there of course.

Keep in mind, this is just a proposed idea for a 3rd trip. I'm not suggesting this should be the path they take for a potential sequel. I would be 100% fine with a new location, or a new cast/time altogether. A part of me feels that they are going to try to get one more game out of this cast/foundation considering how well BotW and TotK have done sales-wise (TotK already has outsold all other Zelda games except for BotW just showing the power BotW has had on the series now).
