That game was ridiculously good. It cost a 100 dollars when it came out which is absurd I got it for twenty dollars on clearance at Kay Bee Toys If I remember correctly, but damn what a game. It really was the end of a Milienium and there are still no rumors of a 5th.

Good game

I actually lost some of my post when I had to edit my link but Virtua Racer cost around that or 80 maybe. I'd pay a lot for sure for PSIV if I had the money, but Virtua Racer. Psssh.

i have it on some xbox 360 collection along with the Shining Force stuff, been meaning to try them

kind of insane that they made the best healer in the game the character that has tp restoration]

fun game but i wish the translation wasn't so bad and it was a bit more challenging. the graphics in the overworld can look kinda ugly at times, in stark contrast to the cool battle sprites and great cutscenes

I think I remember this game fairly well and watched some recaps. It has a clunkiness to it but way less than any other in the series and I think the sprite work/comic panels 100 percent holds up.

It had some difficulty spikes omg that Air Castle but overall I felt like it hit that sweet spot.

Illuminous was that Kyra? I doubt it was Raja. Fun times though.

Phantasy Star IV is one of the best games ever made.

i give 3 credit for its ambition
the generation system was interesting if not implemented very well.

anyway i wouldnt really consider any of the first 3 phantasy star games good
but the first game has its place in video game history as the main character of phantasy star 1 is the first time a woman was the main character in a jrpg.

but 4 on the otherhand is amazing
i hold it up there with chrono trigger and final fantasy 6 as the best of the 16 bit era.

Lol. And to think it was part of the genesis collection on ps3 I got for $15.

IV holds up by far the best. If you're a fan of that era it's a great game to check out. But it is still a game of that era so it's not for everybody.
