I'm not really a comic book guy, so I looked up Miles in 616, and it turns out he's older, a little bit lighter-skinned, and is Kingpin's best friend after saving his life when they were in prison:

I liked the twist at the end of Across the Spider-Verse, but it would have also been cool if they used this version, IMO.
