I still have no internet at my house and limited hotspot data earmarked for my remote work.

If I go buy physical, will I still need an internet connection to download some 50gb day zero patch?

There's a 300mb day 1 patch with a few minor fixes but otherwise the devs have said it's fully playable on day 1 with no internet.

Nah, they said they were aiming to have no day one patch, but they did find some rare major glitch that forced them to put out a smaller 300MB patch that does some minor performance fixes and to fix the major crash glitch they said is 'exceptionally rare'.

So you'll probably be good even without it.

Try disconnecting the internet and putting the disc in again. It should install off the disc instead of trying to download that way then.

I'm going to install it right meow and will report back.

That's just the literal install of the game files, dawg. That's not an update. The update is 300mb and is version 1.002.

Try disconnecting the internet and putting the disc in again. It should install off the disc instead of trying to download that way then.

Yeah I wonder if the disc was just installing but he thought it was downloading. Maybe internet speeds up the installing or something idk.

My wife got it for me for...Christmas 2021? It's a nice wooden "Achievement Unlocked: Found your player 2" with a little stick figure couple holding hands. It was very sweet so now it lives right under my TV.

Thank you :) Yeah I dun picked well. Which is funny cause she is not a gamer at all. Most we play is Mario Kart 8 (which, granted, we've been playing that for almost a decade at this point) but she knows what to get me when it counts.
