Sony and Nintendo have too much a contentious history with each other. Microsoft and Sony are both too big, global,redundant, and deeply license based to merge. With Nintendo and Xbox, there would be a natural set of roles. I could see a future with a Microsoft home console box that's extremely powerful running Nintendo exclusives, with Nintendo manufacturing a portable that interfaces with the Xbox console running Xbox licenses. If PlayStation died they would not have incentives to make games and would most likely sell the franchises off. So yeah youll probably get Ubisoft The Last of Us or EAs Spider-Man on PC but not the big budget hand crafted single player experiences made to move consoles.
