Current Events > I just started watching Law and Order for the first time. Any good?

Just realizing I have over 28 seasons to binge watch. I'm about to stock up on top ramen, months supply of toilet paper, hot pockets, diet pepsi, and a shit ton of frozen chicken and rice. What am I missing besides my dignity?

I've seen the first 2 seasons. They are fairly good. But not as flashy as the modern episodes

All of them are decent to me but SVU would be my favorite.

Oh yea. I'm talking about the original Law and Order show.

Early SVU is more modern. I think original started in 1990. And SVU was 1999 I think

I've watched so much Law & Order over the years, it's great. Most of the branch of shows are also, like mentioned SVU.

are the crime depictions fairly accurate or are they based on the realms of sci-fiction?

Some are based on actual crimes.

Fairly accurate and some are even based on real crimes.

Just keep in mind that the portrayal of police in the show is purposely in a very positive light (they nypc have even said the show makes them look good for whatever it's worth)

Nearly all of them were, in some way or another. Or at least they were until the later seasons, anyway. "Ripped from the headlines" was Law and Order's whole thing.

Law and Order is a generally a really good series. You dont get that many seasons and that many spin-offs if you arent doing something right.

But it can be kind of samey after awhile. It has a general formula to it and they stick to it.
