Did file 3 last night. Trying to chain bind enemies while also avoiding their attacks is complicated.

Kept messing up my jumps also sometimes it didnt matter, but I lost so much health in the astral plane segments from it.

The arrow legion boss fight was annoying once it started summoning those large moving walls. Never managed to figure out how to cut them Id end up too far or too close or not lined up and fail, so I ended up just using the gun and moving around them.

Didnt have to use any revives though unlike file 2 where I used up both during the fight with the enemy that traps you in a circle sometimes.

Astral Chain is great I hope it clicks for you.

It has the most complicated control scheme of any game I've played. It's honestly a worthwhile experience for that alone, even if I'm not exactly buying everything the game is serving me.

I need to get back into it. I think I finished file 5 last I played.

The controls will eventually click and feel genius. It takes a bit to get there though

You pretty much have to think of it like one hand predominantly controls the character, the other the astral guys.

Soon you'll basically be doing really wild stuff like it's nothing

I didnt say the controls are stupid, just complex! I still feel like I just need to git gud, so I wont blame the controls yet.

That sounds dumb, if thats really what co-op is then the only possible value I can see is where the camera controller deliberately makes it hard for the player to see in order to mess with them.

The control scheme was convoluted to the point where I put it down and never finished it. Too much shit that's just way too uninituitive to pull off in the middle of a fight.

I'll prolly pick it back up and be content with just button mashing.

Yeah, it's a bit much to get used to at first, but once you do and it clicks, it's super satisfying, IMO.

You have strayed from the truth of boobies.

I don't think chain binding was supposed to be something you're constantly doing in combat. It fails to even hold the same enemy after you use it on them like 3 times. So yeah, it's tricky, but IMO it's meant to be more of an opportunistic deal, like when you and your legion happen to be positioned almost in a full wrap around the enemy(ies) anyway, and you just flick the joystick to complete the circle. Chain binding is actually way more useful for the stealth sections than it is for combat
If you level up your X-baton and your legion skills, you'll eventually get a ton of ways to trigger sync attacks w/ the legion, which is the main benefit of the chain bind more so than the brief immobilization (since the hold time decreases so fast w/ each use).
When you get the beast legion you'll get a Howl ability that disables enemies better than chain binding, and when you get the axe legion you'll get a shield ability to absorb 3 hits. Both will help a lot defensively in the ways you're probably relying upon the chain binding now.

You can definitely do it in the heat of the moment. But yeah some skills make it way easier

I'm not going through this on anything other than PT standard. I want to get graded.

I remember Beast Legion being kinda OP. This was also the game that gave me switch drift

I haven't played it in almost 5 years, but I think it's probably best to keep your legion hidden until it's time to actually use them.

It is one of those games I either have to keep playing for one long session or struggle to get back into because the controls are the type of thing I need a refresher for.

I got a lot of medals on the hardest difficulty, honestly a really fun game to do so cuz the peak of the combat is so goddamn high.

It's pretty much impossible to deal with mobs without fully understanding the way the legions control. I think increasing their speed as much as possible makes it a lot easier
