Auto_Chrisbot posted... Plus just sleep less, you don't need 8 hours of sleep everyday. 5 or 6 hours is good enough. That depends on TC's sleep need. How much sleep one needs varies from person to person. For example, I can't function on 5 hrs but 7.5 hrs is ideal. And despite some of the comments ITT, fulfilling your sleep need is important as that's when your body repairs itself and processes your memories, and not doing so can lead to negative effects such as impaired memory/cognition, moodiness and being more prone to accidents (as well as increased risk for more serious health issues like heart disease and reduced immune system function if done for an extended period). And to TC, I counted 19 hrs used per day (assuming a 40 hr workweek); what are you doing with the other 5? And surely you have some free time on weekends? --- Resident Synthwave enjoyer. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7SYUwGoheac ... Copied to Clipboard!

Back when I worked full time before I went back to school I'd play on weekends/days off and for 3 to 4 hours after work. Sometimes after work I'd be so tired that I'd fall asleep right when I got back and wake up without having done anything in my free time which I absolutely hated. A major part of having that free time was my commute being 10 mins or less. When it was 30 mins to an hour one way depending on traffic it felt like I had little time after work to do anything. --- i15 79420K | GTRadeon 58290 Ti | 2 TB 9600 MHz RAM | 128 TB SSD ... PenultmateGohan posted... There is nothing to "outgrow." This. There is this strange idea out there that video games are somehow worse than any other hobby. They are not. As long as you get something out of it (fun, stress relief etc.) and do it in moderation, any hobby you choose is fine-books or painting or movies etc. etc. Video games are just another hobby, no different than any other we do to blow off steam in our spare time. As my generation that grew up with games keeps playing into old age, this stigma that games are somehow just for kids unlike every other hobby we do to fill time will disappear. In the meantime, games are a hobby like any other. It is great if it brings you joy. It is bad if it is not done in moderation and takes over your life and responsibilities. --- An opinion does not turn into a fact simply because the person holding it feels strongly about it. ... My girlfriend and me have been working for the same company for over 5 years now. We go to work and back home together. We try to avoid spend too much time together at work, since it would be overkill. It's similar at home. After dinner at around 6 PM (we are early birds and work from 6.30 AM to 4 PM), both of us have about 2 hours for themselves until 8 PM. She watches shows that we don't watch together, and I game. So I can usually play videogames for 2 hours on weekdays. Double on weekends. So on average, I have about 18 hours a week to mind my own business. Of course, it varies depending on other activities. Sometimes it's 14 hours, sometimes it's 22 hours. It's not as much as when I was younger, but it's enough for me. --- Like: videogames, peaceful discussions, open-minded people Dislike: console wars, trolls, haters, review-bombing, bias ...
