I'd say A Farewell to Kings through Signals was a higher quality run. The production on Kings makes 2112 sound like it was done in a garage.

R.E.M.

(Murmur)
(Reckoning)
(Fables of the Reconstruction)
Lifes Rich Pageant
Document
Green
Out of Time
Automatic For The People

I put the first three in brackets as some people don't like Fables. Not me, it's my favourite.

I guess some must like Monster. New Adventures in HiFi is one of their best. Up is having a reappraisal at the moment.

I tried to find one that was in order but it was late and I was halfway asleep in bed messing around with my phone when I posted it.
But hell yeah, dude; Licensed to Ill through Hello Nasty is just progressively incredible. To the 5 Boroughs is not quite as great as their first five albums but it's still good all round (plus it has Ch-Check It Out), and people just straight up sleep on the Hot Sauce Committee pt.2. That album is legit.

Pretty sure the best run by any musical group in pop music easily has to be the Beatles in the second half of the 60's.

With the caveat that their discography got just a little screwed up by how they were ultimately just a money machine that also operated on major singles and how their albums differ in North America. But the absolute bangers are:

Rubber Soul
Revolver
Sgt Peppers...
Magical Mystery Tour
White Album
Abbey Road

Personally I think Licensed to Ill kind of sucks if you take it out of the context of the time. Probably my second least favorite of the first six to listen to today. It's a little weird because people who have only heard a few Beastie Boy songs think they all sound like idk Brass Monkey, but that middle stretch goes so much further beyond that.
