Because I have more control of what goes in, I tend to get a little... obsessed with using quality ingredients.

Yea I could skimp a little on the side ingredients, but I always go "I'm already spending a lot on the mains, skimping on the sides will just bring down the dish".

In the end, I either don't save much or spend a bit more compared to ordering food delivery or eating out that I might as well just save myself the effort on the whole process of buying ingredients, cooking & cleaning.

Anyone feel the same?

I typically spend more money on quality spices from a local shop. It can make a big difference when cooking with lower quality ingredients.

Either way, I buy in bulk and freeze. With frozen/canned vegetables, meat, and a starch (pasta, rice, potatoes, brrqd) for almost every dinner - usually costs me about 5-10 bucks to feed three people when I cook.

It only helps if you cook in bulk.

Is 3 - 4 portions what you'd consider bulk?

It's definitely healthier but you are using your own gas and electric and then water to clean your plates and utensils.

In todays energy prices, it's actually not a surprised that its cheaper to just buy meals.

I've started buying in bulk. After a little while my food costs have gone way down. I'm back down to $120 every 2 weeks instead of $300 every 2 weeks. Sometimes I don't even need to spend that much. Only things I need weekly is produce. Honestly buying my supplied in bulk saved a ton. You should try it

I like red, but can I substitute that with black and pinto?

Do you have any in stock?
