Quite a lot of countries in Europe. Germany, Spain, France, Netherlands, Denmark. People have studied the claim about trafficking specifically.

the statistics show that when prostitution is legalised, sex trafficking increases. So while Im not morally against it, Im against it because of the statistics

If it has to be legal then there needs to be safeguards in place to protect both the prostitute and the person they are with.

My idea would be for the US Federal government to basically be the pimp. Legal prostitutes would be considered federal employees. You aren't going to sell a sex slave to the feds. Everyone would be consenting

basically the gist of it is that the negative effect of increasing the market outweighs the substitution effect of it being legalised. increasing the market/demand increases the exploitation at a higher rate than the legalization decreases it

Yea but nobody is going to smuggle in sex slaves and then get them hired by the US government. If all prostitution is managed by the feds, there will be no trafficking

There will be no unregulated prostitution ring. That's my whole point

Definitely isn't victimless since people who resort to selling their bodies tend to be less fortunate people who feel they have no better options.
