Just rewatched Captain America The Winter Soldier and this is the one time he had some sort of intimidation factor. He's good at taking out normal people but any fight fight with any sort of enhanced being results in an L for him

His combat history

-captured by Hydra in WW2
-tossed out if a train and captured again by Hydra in WW2
-Lost to Steve Rogers and spared by him
-Got his ass whooped by Black Panther
-Got his ass whooped by Black Panther without his suit
-was about to get killed by Black Panther if Wanda didnt save him
-useless against 15 year old spiderman in his first fight
-EDIT: got his ass handed to him by newly made hydra super soldier
-barely survived a 2 on 1 against iron man and clear he would have been waxed if cap wasnt there
-was about to be killed by thanos aliens in wakanda until Thor arrived
-ragdoll'd by thanos then snapped away (we won't hold this against him)
-only time shown in thr big battle in endgame was him being nearly vaporized by thanos ship
-karli and flagsmashers beat him up on the truck
-barely survived a two on one against john walker who just became a super soldier

He did beat up widow and sharon so that must mean something

The Winter Jobber

These are low effort.

In what universe is Bucky beating spidey or BP or thanos? All would lay him out in seconds if they wanted. Black Panther without his suit is just black panther with street clothes.

He quite handily survived that two on one with walker lol.

The entire club in FATWS was afraid of him. But if you're comparing him against supers yeah he's gonna lose most of the time in CQC.

That tracks, did you not see what Steve was able to do the moment he got out of the containment in Cap 1? And that was a scrawny nobody.

The dude who kicked bucky was already a trained elite soldier before he got the serum

Tbf BP and Spidey both were even giving Steve a run for his money

But yeah Winter Jobber basically stopped mattering after his debute movie lol

I already said he is competent against normal people and fine he did his thing against flagsmashers

Almost every loss you're describing is a situation where he's not fighting to kill and in some cases is actively trying to run, or in the case of the other Winter Soldiers, protecting the Hydra goon.

And it's a pretty explicit plot point that Bucky and the Winter Soldier are essentially two different personas and Bucky explicitly shies away from that level of violence.

I bet in thunderbolts he gets his ass kicked by taskmaster

This happens to literally every former villian. They were major threats when they were evil but became jobbers when they turned good.

Nick fury should have just used his pocket lightsaber on winter jobber instead of digging a tunnel. He probably would have won
