Ive gotten conflicting advice. Some folks have told me you can do it once daily, while others have said it should be every other day or maybe 3 days per week --- Hope rides alone ... Copied to Clipboard!

I can't imagine daily being good for you. In anything. Lift one day, cardio next day, lift next day, rest. Repeat. --- St. Louis Battlehawks (7-3) ... Copied to Clipboard!

Generally you wanna give your muscles a day of rest. If you lift daily, you'd want to split the workouts into muscle groups on certain days. Like one day is upper body then the next day is lower body. --- Twitch: https://www.twitch.tv/kid_prodigy23 ... Copied to Clipboard!

Yeah, a day of rest is the general rule. You could do it daily if you work out different muscle groups each day, though, but I prefer every other day. --- Many Bothans died to bring you this post. ... Copied to Clipboard!

Correct, your muscles have to recover to get stronger. Working them every day isn't helpful. You can use the off days for cardio exercises --- The Legend is True! ... Copied to Clipboard!

I used to lift heavy five days a week for about a decade and after a while I started to feel like shit. Only lift three days heavy and four conditioning days now. I feel much better. BlueBoy675 posted... Speaking of cardio, is it wise to do cardio and lifting in the same session? The past couple of times Ive been to the gym Ive started with 20 minutes on the treadmill before transitioning over to weights I pretty much always do cardio and lifting together. It is better to do a brief (5 min or so) warmup on cardio, then do all your lifts, and finish w/ your long cardio at the end. You don't want to be exhausted from your treadmill run and then try and do a full lift routine, you won't lift as much. As far as lifting splits go, there are a ton of different plans out there and they all work pretty well. If you are new to lifting, pretty much any plan out there will work for you. I personally prefer to do one muscle group each day: Chest/Back/Shoulders/Arms/Back/Legs/rest day. For protein intake, all that really matters is how much protein you get throughout the day, whether it is before or after a workout has very minimal impact. --- Hello world! ... Copied to Clipboard!
