Eh, definitely a show. I love the tone Elden Ring carries. But the writing leaves a whole lot to be desired. Which is the point. Pentiment should have won. Not even a consideration. it a popularity contest kinda (2500+ SFWA members elgible to vote. most hyped games get most exposure) that said i prefer elden ring style of storytelling than what is usually the norm for AAA titles these days. Altho I prefer adventure game style where you find notes and just piece things together with some small help from environment and minimum cutscenes even more than the fromsoftware style w/ large emphasis on having to read item descriptions (cuz they still kinda unclear without aid of a community). Like the game scratches, last half of darkness, darkfall series and other games like them like infra, outerwilds, and the painscreek killing have my preferred game style of storytelling --- I'm a Taurus.
