Never played it but always wanted to even though I am not really into those types of games. The sheer amount of effort and artistry put into the game deserves some appreciation though. I hear the actual game itself is just alright to pretty good while being insanely difficult.

It ends as quick as it starts.
I haven't touched it since late 2017 when it came out. DLC didn't entice me back.
The parries feel kinda screwy, The fully levelled supers are kind of underwhelming and the ones that only take a quarter of your meter seem to be better.
The game's kinda on the easy side unless you're going for good grades so that doesn't help the longevity.

The game is mostly carried by how it looks so you'd probably be better off watching a playthrough or speedrun on YT.

Edit: Also they made a 4 minute big band song they made for the dumb dragon quest slime boss who dies in about a minute.

It was fun. You get just a little bit better with every attempt and when you finally win, it feels like a huge accomplishment

Cuphead on the switch PWNZ

Fun game and the difficulty of the game is fair and earned. No walk back bullshit like Dark Souls has. If you die on a boss you can fight them again right away.

The animation is also phenomenal. The DLC final boss fight has such great animation that it is on par with the best classic Disney movie animation.

I loved it, in spite of the profanity I hurled at my tv while playing. I got stonewalled by King Dice though; parrying was my Achille's Heel, and in spite of the game being generally good about letting you approach things your own way up to that point, you can go eat shit if you haven't mastered parrying by the time King Dice rolls around (pun intended).

Pretty much the same issue I had with Metroid Dread, now that I think about it.

Never tried it. Not a fan of the art style/aesthetic.

Its amazing. The art and music are among the best of the best. The throwback to 30s animation was a really unique idea, and the game has great visual attention to detail. Cuphead is also elite gameplay-wise. Very hard challenges that get easier with each attempt until you can beat them without much trouble. The DLC is awesome too.

I got all the achievements within like a week of the game coming out.
I had to wait a little extra because the one for beating King Dice with no damage was glitched. Less than 20 hours of gameplay.
I didn't buy the DLC because why would I?

That's awesome! You have a screenshot with only 20-30 hours played and all achievements?

Could have, before the DLC came out.
Now it'd say 28/42, 18-19 hours of play, last played Oct 2017.

DMC5 did the same thing to me when the Vergil DLC had achievements, Shovel Knight with King Knight/multiplayer that I straight up don't want to play, Payday 2 after they suddenly decided they needed more money and un-concluded the story.
They were maxed out once and that's enough for me.
