It's why I always play new game on games and never new game+ when I come back. You don't gotta conform just cause the option is there lol.

Most games are made with new players in mind. So, you're more likely playing the canon way by not porting.

I mean it makes sense. It's a direct sequel. They Metroid'd your hearts, stamina and inventory away via story, but it'd be quite the ass pull for the plot to make your horses go missing.

Also horses barely matter in this game.

I went through the entire game without a horse cause I didnt run into them often and theyd just run or kick me whenever I approached one. Then the stable to register a horse always told me they werent ready yet lol.

It's automatic. If you have a BotW save file, they're right there waiting in TotK when you go to a stable. There's no indication or option to import.
