Should they?

I feel that unless you murder someone, you should never lose your right to vote. Murderers denied someone else their vote/voice for life, so it seems only fair to take their vote/voice in exchange

I voted for the first option but then realized they'd most likely be in jail anyway so wouldn't be able to vote.

No one should ever lose the right to vote. Doesn't matter if you killed someone or not. People in prison deserve a voice just as well, because frankly the state of prisons in the US is awful.

What if they're convicted of voter fraud?

Once their sentence is over they can vote again, applies to everyone. I think your argument is totally reasonable, though.

Actually I don't know if you are talking about currently convicted felons or formerly convicted felons

I mean voter fraud, inciting an insurrection, or treason seem to be valid reasons to lose the right to vote.

Even murderers should not lose the vote.

1) False murder convictions will always be a possibility, and could be weaponized to disenfranchise (certain groups of) people.

2) Murderers can/have/will rehabilitate and reintegrate into society after atoning for their crimes.

3) What exactly would denying their vote accomplish? It's not like "make murder legal" is on the ballot.

I believe that anyone who has been convicted of certain election fraud felonies should lose their rights to vote, but aside from that, yeah if someone has served their sentence they should have their voting rights reinstated.

Treason is a valid reason for state-sanctioned death, imo.

Inciting an insurrection to overthrow the government falls hand in hand with treason, so see above.

I could see voted fraud being fair for losing your right to vote. You're not taking someone's voice, but by voting multiple times you're effectively nullifying someone's voice.

I think any legislators who vote to remove others' rights to vote should lose the right to vote.
