i've been to that area quite a bit on business - the mall is pretty close to corporate - and allen's reportedly one of the safest cities in texas, second only to like plano next door.

i'll have to check in on my former colleagues in the area. it's regrettable that allen's subject to an ordeal like this, it's a really nice place.

Guns are the problem and starting the very long and difficult process of getting rid of them is the only solution.

"Responding" is probably a strong choice of word.

Like, I'm sure they're ready to stand around for eight hours and/or beat the shit out of people for trying to actually respond.

This is Texas. One of, if not the most, armed states in the country. Where were all the good guys with guns to stop the shooter?
