Is this true? What about places that dont use apple pay

My girlfriend confirms this. She always pays with Apple pay

You cant do Apple Pay 100% because there are still too many places that dont take it. I wish we could, but you have to have your credit card until the stores get in the 21st century (Im talking about Walmart).

experts say likely Generation Alpha .. then Beta etc.

I have apple wallet in my phone and never really use it. But its a good backup if I were in a situation where I lost my wallet. Vice versa it would be good to have a backup if you lose your phone.

I have Google Pay set up and usually use that, but I have my physical card for places that don't take it. I also prefer to use the card in small businesses (as - and this may not be the same everywhere - the transaction fees are higher for the seller when using contactless payments than when using a swipe/insert card).

I've used it to pay for gas & at my local CVS. My phone supports tap to pay and it works basically the same as tap to pay on a card.

Actually slightly faster probably since the time needed to get my phone out and open Google pay takes less time than getting my card out of a wallet.

Even though I do have Google Pay (and also actively use the domestic MobilePay payment system that's frequently used throughout Denmark), I actually do actively carry my personal debit card whenever I'm going around. And keep in mind that I'm a real Gen Zer (born in 2000)!

I mean they charge your card through the service. It's not like it's a separate line of credit

you still get rewards if thats the card used thru apple pay...

I use Apple pay for my Apple credit card because it gives me more cash back in each purchase

other than that card, it doesnt matter as much

Ah, I thought Apple pay was just linked to a checking account or something. Can you set up multiple versions of apple pay?

Because my different credit cards give different rewards depending on what I'm buying, what type of retailer, etc

I have my credit cards in my Apple Wallet so I just use my Apple Watch to tap pay for everything

it's the same cards dude... you just have them saved in your phone and run them through NFC between your phone and the card reader.

i see the benefit but every time I hear "yall don't take apple pay? how am i supposed to pay then?!" i feel violent urges.

yeah i have all my CC on apple pay. I also do have an apple CC because the apple savings account is a HYSA at 4.15%

I keep my CC attached to the back of my phone and just tap it. I'm in and out in like 2 seconds

I can only speak for Google pay but I can add as many cards as I want and pick which one I want to use. Hit tap to pay and then tap.

I'd be stunned if Apple pay couldn't do exactly that.

What sucks about Google Pay is you can't see the actual virtual card details, some apps/stores offer rewards but don't accept virtual wallets so you have to use your regular card to tap to pay to link.

There's a chip you can get in your palm now apparently.

What has been mostly phased out by younger generations is paying with cash. My credit cards can just tap the screen for 2 seconds and boom, paid.

I'm 44, I guess Im old because I pretty much only use my debit and credit cards unless I buy shit online at home

Some credit cards offer at least 3% on all qualifying mobile wallet purchases so its definitely worth it for that alone.

Apple Pay is great, I usually have my phone in hand anyway for music/podcast control while Im in line. 2 clicks of the side button, and a Face ID scan, and Im paying.

I just wish I could put rewards cards in it like I can Samsung. Technically you can, but you need a 3rd party app.

Also fuck Walmart.

I've never even seen people use anything other than credit cards/cash. Never even seen Apple Pay anywhere except online. Maybe it's available more places than I think, but I've never seen it used.

I used my bank card for everything until a Japanese website only allowed credit cards if you were buying a "mature" item. By the time my card arrived it sold out! I still use it now though. Just funny that was the push

tbh first time i heard of apple pay was while watching one of michaeldoeslife's streams. when he took a trip to LA like a year or two ago. he kept asking the service workers at restaurants if they took apple pay and if they didn't he'd just leave and find another place lol
